BIO

As a contemporary artist, I am essentially interested in creating works that bring out a nostalgic sensation within. I want to capture those moments in time, where seeing something from my past, brings out nothing but joy and happiness. This is the most crucial element involved in my creation process. If I can create a similar feeling within anyone that may come across my work, to instill a deep feeling of bliss, if only for a moment, then I am happy to oblige, though it is not the main purpose of my work. It can be easy to get caught up in making art that does not speak to you personally, to compromise artistic freedom for financial gain, or fame, yet these are areas that I refuse to relinquish control as I feel it only degrades the value of my work.

When I initially decided to get a degree in art, it wasn’t to pursue a professional career in the art world, it was to design and create works of art that I personally felt connected to and for my own particular enjoyment. With the skills I’ve gained and developed over my college career, I intend to use as a potential side-hustle/hobby, as something to sustain my creative mind as I age (as of right now, I have no intention of creating art for financial gain). I consider myself a mixed media artist, mainly because I enjoy working with different materials and I found it suffocating to limit myself to just one. I’ve also been around a variety of different shops (wood, metal, etc.) my whole life and they have had a large influence on my creative processes through material usage. So far, the skill I’ve spent a considerable amount of time developing in college is illustration, as it was the by far my weakest ability and plays a significant role in the designs I create.

My ultimate goal as an artist, is to combined my love for entertainment (video games, films, and books - anything sci-fi) and to capture those nostalgic moments into something unique and special. Over the years I have created a substantial number of different pieces and I have found that I am very much a minimalistic artist, visually speaking, I believe that less is more.
